After reading Laura Capon's article last year about how much money she'd spent on makeup/beauty products in 2017, I was desperate to do something similar. So, in 2018 I set myself the goal to only buy a new makeup product if I needed a replacement - excluding eyeshadows and lipsticks, of course, because I have no self control. I'm just warning you in advance, the amount I've spent is pretty worrying.
Disclaimer: products marked with a * have been gifted by the brand. Oh, and did I mention it had snowed?!
Victoria's Secret body spray in Pure Seduction - £17.
Victoria's Secret perfume in Angel - £65.
YSL perfume in Black Opium (my scent of 2018) - £72.
Okay, it's embarrassing how expensive my taste in perfume is. I'm actually surprised I only got through three fragrances, but I always have a lot of perfumes on the go at once.
Note: I haven't kept hold of all of my moisturisers/toners etc.
I could not live without my Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater, so no wonder I got through two full-sized bottles at £11 and one travel-sized at £7.
2 x Superdrug Vitamin C serum - £5.
Glossier Super Pure - £24.
Nip+Fab Kale Fix shot serum - £25.
Nip+Fab Viper Venom Fix shot serum - £25.
Skinkissed Flawless Skin serum - £25*.
2 x Witch Hazel Sticks - £2.50.
Nivea lip balm - £1.
EOS - £6.
Vaseline with cocoa butter - £2.
2 x Elizabeth Arden 8-hour lip balm - £10.
I use lip balms all the time and have multiple on the go, so it's no shock that I've spent almost £30 this year.
I use mascara almost daily, so I'm not surprised that I got through ten this year.
L'Oreal Volume Million mascara - £11.
L’Oreal Mega Volume Collagene mascara- £10.
Beauty Pie Über Volume Boost - £20/3.36 depending on membership*.
Colour Couture - approx £10 (I don't think this is available any longer).
Givenchy Noir Couture black satin mascara travel size - approx £13*.
Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara (my holy grail) - 1 x travel size £10, 1 x normal size £19.

Eight concealers this year?! That's a little worrying, I can't lie.

2 x Mac Fix+ - £19.
Too Faced Hangover setting spray - 2 x travel size £12, 1 x normal size £27.
Mini Jeffree Star velour liquid lip - £7.
Did I really only get through one lippy?!?!
The Body Shop gel pen liner - £9.

Happy New Year you lovely lot! Before I start on all of my new content, I thought I'd finish up showing you what was in my Net-A-Porter calendar (yes, I'm aware it finished nearly two weeks ago). Here we go!
Oh, and a quick apology...I woke up at 4pm on the day of this shoot, so sorry about the lighting - I know, I need to get my life together.
Dec 22: Oribe blowout cream and primer
Right, have I missed something with hair primer? I've had two now in this calendar and I'd never heard of it before. Anyway, I actually really liked this de-tangling primer to use before the blowout cream, it made my luggy mess much easier to brush. I wasn't overwhelmed with the blowdrying cream, but that might be because I'm still loving the balm that came earlier in the calendar.
Dec 24: Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin mask
I've heard nothing but good things about Charlotte Tilbury's skincare (her magic cream is divine, it's just a shame it costs more than my weekly rent) so I was suuuper excited when I opened up her clay mask. My skin's going through a rough time at the minute - lots of work, late nights and booze has really taken its toll - so I'm hoping this mask will sort me right out! After just one use my face felt much softer, and there seems to be plenty of product so I'm excited to see the results.
Dec 25: Le Labo shower gel and body cream
Honestly, I would've preferred the Charlotte Tilbury mask to be behind Christmas Day's door as I was expecting something super big after the Christmas Eve treat (not to sound spoilt, lol). I love the idea of avocado body cream and they are both lovely, to be fair, but I’m still in love with the vanilla marshmallow range from The Body Shop.
