To follow on from my eyeshadow collection, here's my collection of lippys. They're mainly nudes (shock) but to me they're allll different. I'd just like to apologise in advance for my shocking swatches and that some of the glosses were really hard to swatch ~nicely~.
Mac - Velvet Teddy & Brave
Like I said in my last post, Mac products are tested on animals so after I've used these lipsticks up I won't be buying replacements. I love the colours of both these lipsticks and Velvet Teddy is a staple piece in any make up bag, thanks to Kylie Jenner. I find Velvet Teddy quite drying, but both have amazing staying power and are super pigmented.
Kat Von D -Lovecraft & Mercy
I got my 'Lovecraft' KVD lipstick for my 18th off a friend and I love it, it's super creamy and has a really long lasting power and it's such a gorgeous colour. The 'Mercy' lippy I got as a sample from Glamour Beauty Club and I find you have to build it up to get full coverage (it's quite streaky) and definitely isn't an everyday lipstick for me, but I like it all the same. Both of these lippys are a win for me!
Charlotte Tilbury - Pillowtalk
I was dying for 'Pillowtalk' by Charlotte Tilbury ever since it came out in February and finally treated myself to it in August on a shopping spree in London. The colour is gorgeous and the formula somehow makes my lips look fuller than they are. It's got quite a hefty price tag, but I genuinely think it's worth it as it's the perfect colour for any occasion.
Yves Saint Laurent - No. 4
I got the YSL lip tint-balm thing (I don't know its official name) on holiday in April when I was dying for it. I actually hardly use it and it's definitely a summer colour so won't be touched this time of year. It cost a fair amount, too, but it's lush for my dry lips to give them a pop of colour without being too 'in your face'.
Bobbi Brown - Hibiscus & Petal 3
I've had these two Bobbi Brown products for what feels like an eternity. I love 'Hibiscus', a pinky sheer tone lippy that is the perfect everyday summer shade. I'm not overly keen on the gloss, though. I adore the colour but I find it way too sticky so I literally never reach for it.
I have a collection of drugstore lipsticks that I very rarely reach for but keep just in case. I don't use these colours as I find them too bright for my liking, I usually just go for nude shades. (By the way, sorry for the shocking swatch of the gloss).
The Body Shop - Shade 06
I got this lippy as a gift for my 18th and I love it. It's creamy, hydrating and the colour is perfect for everyday use. It lives in my college bag and it's even great for no makeup days because it adds a hint of colour to my lips.
Kylie Cosmetics - Koko K & KKW Collection
If you ask anyone who knows me well what my favourite lip colour is, they should say Koko K. I just adore everything about the colour, I like the formula, even if it is a little drying, and the liquid lipstick smells sooo good. I got the KKW Collection on its first release and love it, but I definitely use it more in the summertime. I gave one colour to my cousin as I didn't use it enough, but I definitely use the others. They're the perfect nude colours, the only downsides are that they're quite streaky and you have to reapply quite often.
Fenty Beauty - Gloss
Honestly, no lip gloss will ever top the Fenty one so every other brand should stop trying. It's smooth, lasts forever, isn't stick and makes my lips look incredible. I'm like a different person when I put it on, it makes me so confident. I got this as a gift of my gorgeous bestie for my birthday and will be restocking as soon as I run out. It's perfect for every occasion, I wear it to work, college and on nights out.
Jeffree Star - Redrum & Chrysanthemum
I'm not a huge fan of Jeffree Star (we all have our own opinions) but Redrum is the perfect red lipstick for me. I find it quite moisturising for my dry lips and when I say it stays on forever, I mean it. I like Chrysanthemum, too, but probably won't buy it again. It's way too pale for me and is just a weird colour for my lips, so I just use it for eyeshadow looks now.
So, there's my lipstick collection. Doing this post has made me realise that all of my lipsticks are pretty much the same colour, which is super embarrassing. Leave me a comment to let me know what you'd like to see next!
I love absolutely everything about makeup but I especially love eyeshadow. I try and do different 'looks' with each palette I own but they all tend to be fairly similar, just with different colours (which is embarrassing) and I'm really trying to use cruelty free makeup, so while there are some palettes on here that test on animals, once I've used them up I won't be replacing them.
Mac Warm Neutrals
I got the Mac Warm Neutrals palette as a gift a while ago.I adore the colour scheme and the way the colours are laid out makes it easy for beginners (which I was at the time, this was my first proper palette) to do different looks. The pigmentation isn't amazing however it's good enough and the colours are buildable, but my main issue with this palette is how difficult it is to blend the colours. I don't usually reach for this palette due to this but it's perfect for everyday, basic makeup looks.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance
I actually don't think I have a flaw for the ABH Modern Renaissance palette. The colours are super pigmented (there is some fallout but it's nothing drastic) and are so blendable, as well as being such a gorgeous colour scheme in general. I've had this palette for a while now and it's always my go-to for big days or nights out, it's too good (in my opinion) for everyday use and I will definitely be getting another one when I start to hit pan on mine.
I bought the Morphe 35O palette this summer because I was having a huge obsession with orange eyeshadow looks and everyone raved about this palette. The value for money is unbelievable and the colours are so pigmented and blendable. There's a little fallout but nothing to complain about. I don't tend to reach for the browns in this palette as I don't think many 'smokey' colours suit me because of my blue eyes, but I love the reds and oranges and they're so easy to use.
Violet Voss x Laura Lee
My wonderful best friend got me the Violet Voss x Laura Lee palette for my birthday last month so I haven't had a proper opportunity to play around with it yet, but from what I've used I can gladly say I love it. There's virtually no fallout and the colours are so easy to blend, the colours are quite 'out there' for me as well (I usually stick to the same colour scheme) so I can't wait to properly test it out and go for new colours.
Too Faced Sweet Peach
This palette holds a very special place in my heart and I'm not really sure why. It was the first palette I ever bought for myself and I use it a lot, but for some reason it's just my absolute favourite palette. The palette smells of peaches (obviously) and it is divine, there's no fallout at all and the shadows are by far the most blendable ones I own. The colours are super summery but I can also do a nudey-brown look with this palette too. I use the Sweet Peach palette for literally every occasion and it's definitely the palette I use the most, just because it's so easy and quick to use.
Too Faced White Chocolate
I bought the Too Faced White Chocolate palette less than a week ago so I've hardly had a chance to touch it, but I've been dying for it since its release and managed to nab it in the Too Faced store in London. It smells even better than the Sweet Peach palette (it honestly smells incredible) and I just fell in love with the colour scheme. It's so Christmassy and I love all the cool tones. From what I've tried, there's a fair amount of fallout with this palette but it's still super blendable like my other one. I can't wait for Christmas now so I can play with it even more!
So, that's my eyeshadow palette collection! I do have a few single shadows but I don't use them enough to write about. My lipstick collection will be up next so stay posted!
