Dec 15: Senteurs D'Orient soap
Ooh, isn't a good soap just lush? This is jasmine scented and will be perfect for the bath, as it will definitely help me to relax. I'd love to take it back to uni with me to make my halls bathroom smell ~luxurious~ but I fear I may have used it all up by then!
Dec 17: Leonar Greyl shampoo
I'm loving all the haircare in this calendar, however I'm not loving my hair right now thanks to ahaircut gone wrong, you're lucky if you missed my breakdown on my IG stories. I’ve tried this shampoo a few times now and I really like it. Teamed with the blow dry balm from a few weeks, ago it leaves my hair looking lush!
Dec 18: Eyeko liquid eyeliner
I've never tried any Eyeko products and I'm not an eyeliner user, so I was intrigued when this was in my door 18. I haven’t tried this out yet, as the only time I’ve had the chance to wear makeup since has been to go to work (great, right). I’ll give this a go for a night out soon!
Dec 19: Kat Burki intensive face cream
I love vitamin C creams, especially when I'm tired and my skin needs more love than usual. This cream definitely didn’t not disappoint! I adore the packaging and my skin feels great, too. It’s a little tacky, which I personally like but obviously that depends on your preference.
Dec 21: Erno Laszlo night cream
The chilly weather and working outside at night leaves my skin feeling horrible. Luckily, this night cream works wonders. My skin felt noticeably softer after my first use and not to mention that the tub is huge, which makes up for the crappy size of the Legology sample!
I love this so much that I've decided to use it once a week to salvage it. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually think it's worth the £100 price tag - not that I can afford that!
Once again, I'm super impressed with this advent calendar. I can't wait to see what the treat on Christmas Day will be! Have a wonderful Christmas and I'll catch up with you in my next post.
Dec 8: Illamasqua Contour Gel Stick
I'll let you in on a secret, I can't contour to save my life. I've always had a sort of 'fear' of contouring badly and looking like an idiot, but when I swatched this contour stick and saw it wasn't too heavily pigmented nor too dark (it looks way darker on the stick than on my skin) I thought I'd give it a go.
It turns out I have cheekbones!! I wasn't expecting to turn into Angelina Jolie as my cheeks have always been a lil' chubby, but I was very pleased with how the contour stick worked. I'll definitely be using it when I go out.
Dec 9: Chantecaille Eye Recovery Mask
I love a good eye mask, especially when they're well-rated! I've actually brought this home with me to use after my horrific shifts over the Christmas period, so keep an eye out on my Instagram for my thoughts. My undereyes always need some love!
Also, how lush is this packaging?!
Dec 12: Philip Kingsley elasticizer
Honestly, when I opened door number 12 and saw this I was genuinely confused. Is it a skincare product, or what? Nope. This is essentially a 'primer' for your hair to put on before you shampoo. It sure does smell good and is used to make your hair super shiny, which is something I could use some help with. I've used this twice so far and I'm honestly surprised to say that I really like it. Still not sure what it does, but I like it anyway...
Dec 13: Brow Food brow gel
I breathed a sigh of relief when I opened this, it's saved me from buying a new brow gel! I get through brow gel like there's no tomorrow so I was soooo excited to try this - and I loved it! Thanks to my fringe (that needs a cut so bad, I could cry) you can't actually see my brows, but this gel gives my eyebrows such a good shape and it smells amazing - not something you necessarily need in an eyebrow gel, but it's a nice touch.
I also love the wand, which is something I'm very fussy about so that's an added bonus. This will definitely become an everyday item.
Dec 14: Dr Barbara Sturm face cream
I love a good face cream and this did not disappoint. I've only used this once, but I already know that I love it. It's rich and moisturising without being too heavy and my skin felt so soft after using it - I literally saw instant results in terms of hydration. I know this will be a lifesaver for when my skin goes dry, which will inevitably be sometime soon.
I don't want to become too attached to this, though, as a full-sized product is £132. Do you know how much that hurts me?! No wonder it's so good!
Beauty advent calendars have become increasingly popular over the past few years and I honestly love them. Who doesn't love opening a new beauty product every day? With my birthday being so close to Christmas, my mum got me Net-A-Porter's beauty advent calendar as a gift knowing that I would adore it (she wasn't wrong!). Here's what I got in the first week.
Dec 2: Sachajuan Hair Mask
If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know I do little self care nights every Friday and I always deep condition my hair, so this hair mask was a blessing for me considering I usually just use conditioner. Once again, it smells divine and my hair felt so soft after I used it. My only issue was it was super tough to get out of the bottle with wet hands after a shower, as the bottle's really sturdy - both a blessing and a curse.
Dec 3: Marc Jacobs Lipstick
Can you imagine my excitement when an actual Marc Jacobs lipstick was in here?! And a NUDE?!! I felt like I'd arrived in heaven on the morning of December 3rd. It's a super flattering colour and is a little darker than what I usually go for which is perfect for the winter months (shade 'No Angel'), and it lasted all day when I wore it.
Dec 6: Goldfaden Brightening Elixir
I love brightening products, probably because my skin is insanely dull. I haven't given this a go yet because my skin's pretty sensitive and I don't want to overdo it with the new products, but again I'll be talking about it on my Insta stories.
